Read-A-Thon and October Book Haul!

It’s finally time! It’s the end of October, which means I’m about to embark on my own personal reading challenge for the next seven days in which I will read way too much and neglect any sleep needs. Check out the original post to learn about the challenges I’m attempting and any information you could want about the Read-A-Thon. It starts at 12:01 a.m. on October 27th and goes to November 3rd. I’m excited to see what I manage to accomplish. I am having surgery on October 28th, so I may not read that day, but that’s okay! I’ll just have to pick up the slack by reading extra on the remaining days while I’m bedridden 🙂

And for part 2 of this post, I have a mini book haul to share with you. Here are the books I’ve picked up throughout the month of October:

2013-10-26 19.45.13

1. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I read this at the beginning of the month and enjoyed it. I gave it 4/5 stars, but don’t think I’ll be reviewing it because I don’t have too much to say about it. It was enjoyable, but didn’t particularly spark a reaction in me. *shrug*

You can check it out on Goodreads here.

2. Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I have not read this yet and I’m not sure if I will. I didn’t enjoy Beautiful Disaster as much as I thought I would, so I’m not sure if I’ll be continuing on with these characters. This might be an unread donation to my favorite used book store.

You can check it out on Goodreads here.

3. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke

Just finished this one today and loved it! I think I’ll be reviewing this one soon since I have so many feelings and opinions about it 😉

Look into it on Goodreads here.

4. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

I am so excited to read this book! I’ve been putting it off since I got it because I wanted to read it during the Read-A-Thon. I’m very nervous because I’ve heard the ending is heartbreaking. I may have to do a little mental preparation before getting into this one, but I’m really excited to finish this series!

Look it up on Goodreads here.

5. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken

I’m SO excited to read this book. I LOVE Alexandra Bracken and can’t wait to see what happens next in this series! This is another Read-A-Thon book.

Look it up on Goodreads here.

6. Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn

This book looks fantastic and I can’t wait to get into it. I’m not sure when I’ll get the chance, but definitely before the year’s over!

Go check it out on Goodreads here.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books, and if you have, please don’t spoil me! What books did you buy in October? Will you be reading with me this week?

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Hello! My name is Katie and I like to write. If I'm not writing, I'm probably reading, running, playing with my dogs, or eating peanut butter ;)
